Level 4

Overview

Level 4 training provides a practical learning session focused on applying the Makaton Language Programme in real-life contexts.

The workshop begins with a refresher of the signs taught in Levels 1, 2, and 3, reinforcing key vocabulary and building on familiar topics such as feelings and interests.

New vocabulary will be introduced to support the development of essential life skills, including:

• Money
• Quantities
• Numbers
• Time

In addition, you will be introduced to the topic of relationships, expanding communication in more personal and social contexts.

This is an accredited workshop and is delivered by our own licensed Makaton tutor. An attendance certificate will be provided on completion, and a copy of the course manual is included in the pricing. Level 4 is the final stage in the core Makaton Workshop series.

Learning Outcomes

• To have a firm understanding and knowledge of the remaining signs and symbols from stages 7 and 8 of the core Makaton vocabulary
• To feel confident to use Makaton to communicate about complex topics, such as time, numbers, weather, and personal interests.
• To be able to apply advanced techniques for tailoring and adapting Makaton to meet the diverse communication needs of different individuals.
• To feel confident to handle a wide range of communication challenges in both personal and professional environments.
