Level 1

Overview

Level 1 training provides a practical introduction to the Makaton language programme. Learners will have the opportunity to discuss commonly asked questions, gain hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use, and develop their skills in using Makaton in everyday situations at home or work.

These training sessions are a combination of practical signing sessions and presentations.

This is an accredited workshop and is delivered by our own licensed Makaton tutor. An attendance certificate will be provided on completion, and a copy of the course manual is included in the pricing.

Learning Outcomes

• To have a firm understanding and knowledge of the signs and symbols from stages 1 and 2 of the core Makaton vocabulary.
• To feel confident in using signs and symbols at home or in your workplace.
• To be able to develop the communication efficiency of children, young people and adults.
