Our Courses

Core Training

Our "Loving Language" courses are designed to make sure all delegates have a secure working knowledge of how to identify and support children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) within their setting.

This set of courses has been created from years of working in education settings, with education staff. They have been carefully put together to support parents and professionals across a range of age groups and are designed to give, what we feel are the essential pieces of SLT theory, some tangible context.

These sessions may be provided as a full day face to face or as three two hour sessions online.

Speech and Language Masterclasses

For those professionals looking for something more specialised, our half day sessions offer a more in-depth look at a specific area of speech, language and communication or a topic that is closely linked. These are particularly valuable for people who either have already attended speech and language training, are ELKLAN trained, or have experience in working within SLCN. 

Our masterclasses are developed with the latest up to date research and evidence base to ensure what we are providing takes into account the ongoing changes and intervention packages available to support children and young people with a range of SLCN.

Early Years Speciality Training

Early Years Foundation Stage is such an intrinsic and unique part of a child's development. As Speech and Language Therapists, we recognise and promote early intervention and know the difference it makes when we get the communication environment and support right from the outset. These sessions are suitable for all Teaching and Support staff working within Early Years as well as SenCos within both Pre-school and Primary settings.

Let's Talk About

“Let’s Talk About” sessions are designed as a platform to delve further into and discuss the most recent research and information on specific topics. With social media platforms providing an ever-increasing impact on what we see as professionals and/or parents, it can be difficult to remember that not all thoughts and information out there are facts.

These two-hour sessions fit neatly into a staff meeting and can be tailored to think about specific age groups when bought in by a setting. They are also open to parents who may be finding the facts and the evidence challenging to navigate.

Accredited Training

At COMMUNICATE, we are delighted to be able to offer Makaton™ Training from our accredited trainers. This course is appropriate for people just starting to work within SLCN or would like to have an accredited course on their CV. It does typically take more time commitment than our Loving Language courses, and so is more expensive. This training package can be offered as face to face sessions or online but provides the same level of accreditation and tutor support.

Schools and educational settings can also choose to buy in our accredited training package allowing flexibility in timings and location.

Bespoke Training

COMMUNICATE offer bespoke training packages to a range of professional, parent and educational settings within East Anglia and beyond. Our ever increasing experience in providing training online allows costs for travel to be reduced and our reach of support to go further. This is offered in addition to the more traditional face to face sessions.
