Autism is a life-long, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them (National Autistic Society).This half day course explores the barriers to communication experienced by individuals with autism, and ways to support their communication.
Delegates will have the opportunity to look at what characterises autism spectrum conditions, how communication is impacted, some of the strategies that are known to successfully support communication in individuals with autism and how to create a total communication environment that will maximise opportunities for effective communication.
