Elklan courses support the development of communication in children and young people. The training programmes are accredited courses which clearly focus on the specific target group of children or young people they are designed to train practitioners to support.
The content of the programmes is determined through extensive research of current literature and observation of best practice from within schools, other settings, and speech and language therapy services.
Learners are taught practical, evidence informed and highly effective strategies which have been proved to work with young children.
At COMMUNICATE we offer ELKLAN training both as Face to face sessions and also blended e-learning. Class based sessions take place over ten, two hours sessions or three full days over the course of a Term.
E- learning courses take place over 11 sessions. For one hour a week, learners will participate in a lively and informative online discussion led by our experienced Elklan tutor enabling them to share outcomes with others, adding value to the training experience. Another hour per week is completed online via interactive web-based training. Learners will receive the same level of qualification as achieved through face to face sessions and have access to regular support to complete portfolio tasks.
Elklan training is used extensively across the UK and Elklan have posted evaluation reports on their website www.elklan.co.uk
