COMMUNICATE is an independent speech and language therapy service for children, adults and schools, working across East Anglia. Initially started by Emma Ferris as a solo-mission, COMMUNICATE is now a small team of skilled speech and language therapists passionate about offering the truly personalised service people with communication difficulties need.
Together we have successfully treated and supported a large number of children and adults by working closely with their families and schools and making our therapy fun and accessible.
Always evolving and responding to the needs of our clients, we have diversified our services and are proud to offer
- teletherapy / virtual therapy so that travel and location is no longer a barrier
- support to undergraduate Speech & Language Therapy students through clinical placements to develop our profession
- involvement in research within our profession to develop the evidence base and best practice for our clients
Before Emma came to our house, I found it really hard to say the c and k sounds. After a few lessons with her, I was able to tell Emma, I've cracked it! I felt happy because I did what I wanted to and sad because Emma left.
The insecure, shy, noiseless child from eight years ago has turned into a literate, confident, well spoken, polite child who thinks little of standing up in front of hundreds of his peers to give a speech! Not bad for someone who was "always going to struggle". Speech therapists have literally changed his life.
The work that Katherine has done has been outstanding and I want to build on that for our school and our pupils.
Emma was recommended to us by a friends speech therapist who said she was excellent. Having had her help with my two boys I would certainly agree! Her manner was at all times friendly yet professional, and she was very able to put the boys at ease. I would heartily recommend her to any parents looking for support with young childrens speech development.
